Devilish Homecoming

Competition Information for the Tempe campus
The Tempe Campus Homecoming Competitions & Contests are opportunities for ASU Departments and Student Organizations to team up and show their Devilish Sun Devil Spirit through participation in different parts of Homecoming. Each Homecoming event has a competition component to it, and are listed below. The Office Decorating Contest is an opportunity for Tempe Campus Departments to show their spirit, as well!

Homecoming Team Leader Orientation

Saturday, October 24, 2009
Time: 12 p.m.
Location: Tempe Campus Memorial Union 3rd Floor
THIS EVENT IS MANDATORY
At least 1 member from each team must be present
PLEASE BRING ROSTERS/ID NUMBERS

  • October 23, 2009 Devil Duels registration payment due / Bring check with you (Make checks payable to Arizona State University) to Dee Bowman 3rd Floor MU

Royalty and Coronation

A competitive team will be awarded points for the individual honor of nomination, court, or King and Queen. Nominations are closed at this time.

Devil Duels

Entry fee per team: $50 *This is the only event with an entry fee- Checks written to Arizona State University- Bring check with you if you did not pay!!!
Payments must be brought to Dee Bowman, 3rd Floor of the MU by Friday, Octber 24. OR bring payment with you!
Points given for participation and first, second and third place.
Maximum participation: one dodge ball team per competitive team
Teams are limited to 10 participants each
Please visit homecoming.asu.edu for the mandatory Release, Indemnity, and Assumption of Risk form before competing;
these forms will need to be on file to participate! Further rules and regulations will be given to team captains prior to or at the tournament.

Hotdog Eating Contest

Points given for participation and first, second and third place
Maximum participation: two members per competitive team

Sun Devil Night on Mill Avenue premiering Campus Movie Fest

Date: Monday,October 26 2009
Time: 5 - 9 p.m.  *Campus Movie Fest Premier 8 p.m.
Location: Mill Avenue District
*Campus Movie Fest Premier MapCap Theater
By entering Campus MovieFest each member of a team will recieve points. Attending the even will also rack in points.

Devilish Spirit

Dress up as a devil and take pictures at any participating location or MadCap theater!
For competitive teams, the more pictures, the more points you'll earn.
Someone on your team in the picture must be dressed as a devil; definition: horns, tail, pitchfork, additional accessories you deem appropriate.
Extra points will be awarded for pictures where the devil is holding tickets to Campus Movie Fest.
First, second and third place honors will be awarded for the best ensembles submitted!
Email pictures to competitions@asu.edu by October 30 for points.

Spirit and Culture Day

Date: Tuesday, October 27, 2009
Time: 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Location: Hayden Lawn
Please arrive for setup at 10:30 a.m. bring any decoration for your table/booth/tent that represent your organization, ASU's Devilish Homecoming, or Halloween!
Get creative you'll be awarded for it!
Each team will be awarded points for representing their organization at a table/booth/tent. BIG POINTS!
Points will be awarded for members who attend the event and sign in also.
Points will be awarded for each team member wearing ASU Homecoming 2009 apparel.

Penny Wars

Points for Penny Wars will be awarded to the first, second and third place teams.
PAB will provide each table with a water jug.
Cheks may be made payable to the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation.
Penny Wars will begin promptly at 12 p.m. and end immediately at 2 p.m. 

Devilish Dueling Pianos

Date: Tuesday, October 27, 2009
Time: 7- 10 p.m.
Location: Palo Verde (PV) Beach Points awarded for attendance

Locks of Love and Goin' Bald for Bucks

Date: Wednesday, October 28, 2009
Time: 11 a.m.  - 1 p.m.
Location: Memorial Union, North Side
Entry Form
Fundraising starts on Monday, October 26th and goes through Wednesday October 28th. The pledge forms and money need to be turned in by 1pm
on October 28th. All money collected will go directly to the Roswell Park Cancer Institute. The registration form will allow us to know your group is interested.If you wish to add more participants, you can always add and recruit more people to participate in the event the week before.

Homecoming 2-for-1 ComCert at Tempe Beach Park

Date: Wednesday, October 28, 2009
Doors Open: 5:30 p.m. 
Performance Begins: 6:30 p.m.
Location: Tempe Beach Park
Points will be awarded for attending. Look for the Homecoming banner to sign in!

Phantom of the Opera

Date: Thursday, October 29, 2009
Time: 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Location: ASU Gammage
Participation points will be awarded for attending. Look for the Homecoming banner to sign in!
Don't forget...the first 75 people at both shows will recieve a free Phantom Homecoming tee!

Lantern Walk

Date: Friday, October 30, 2009
Time: 8 p.m.
Location: “A” Mountain (Tempe Butte)
Earn big points for your team by attending! Bring your whole team and wear matching shirts for a bonus worthwhile!
